Prefer a Room or a Safari Tent?
The Miseni Retreat has two main areas, both next to the sacred hill facing the Gongo Forest: the upper campsite area and the lower eco-lodge accompanied by the Mkwaju restaurant and bar.
Five double bed, two family rooms and a dormitory
In two large wooden houses there are 8 comfortable, airy, African style rooms with either double, twin, three or four double decker beds, enough to host 20 people. There is a wooden wash basin and a water bowl in each room. The shared showers and dry, compost toilets are in a newly built solar powered complex between the two houses. The two family rooms can comfortably accomodate three people or a family of four - with two children under 12.
Five safari tents and a wooden "banda"
The campsite in the upper side of the Miseni Retreat area is conceived to accommodate groups of students, volunteers but also environmentally conscious couples or families. It is ideal for youth camps of up to 10 people as well.
